Polk Senior Games is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, meaning it is designated by the IRS as a charitable cause, is exempt from federal income tax and can accept tax-deductible donations. Funding for the Games is raised through entry fees, sponsorships and donations.

   

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL SENIOR GAMES & STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS:  Polk Senior Games is sanctioned by the Florida International Senior Games & State Championships. The State Championships division is only open to Florida residents who reside in Florida for 6 months or more in a year. Only some of the Polk Senior Games events are qualifying events for the State Championships and Polk Senior Games will submit the names and October addresses of the top five Florida resident finishers in each age group. Other events in Polk Senior Games are “open” events at the State Games, meaning they do not require qualification to enter. Some events in Polk Senior Games are not offered at the State Games. See individual event information. The International division is open to non-Florida and Florida residents and does not advance finishers to the National Games. Qualifying is not required for non-Florida residents. The State Games will be held in December 2012 in Polk County hosted by Polk County Sports Marketing.  The National Senior Games are held bi-annually during odd numbered years and participants qualify through competition at Polk Senior Games and the Florida State Games Championships during even numbered years.
